The television coverage on the nabbing and interrogation of actresses in alleged drug-use and drug-link cases are unprecedented. The Ratha Jatra (the Chariot Festival) of Mahaprabhu the Supreme Lord Shree Jagannatha and HIS brother Prabhu Shree Balabhadra, and HIS sister Subhadra in the Holy Land of Shree Jagannatha Puri, to my knowledge and experiences, seems to have got the second position compared to the ignoble entourage of drug addicts from their residences to NCB headquarters and then back. Ooooffffff, what a terrible society we are in. The 45 minutes of commuting of the actresses are getting covered with such details that also cover their breakfast tables rituals like their sipping of black coffee to donning of their outfits. The color and size of the vermilion (sindoor, we Indians know) put on the forehead of the actresses are also described in detail. Oh my God, save the society from such madness in making actors as demi-gods. Let us, for a moment, move forward against...

Let me start the discussion with the experience of purchasing custard apple from the farm producer and its correlations with exploitation to the farmers. I and my husband were coming from our native place in Sundergarh to the town of Rourkela. En route, in a place called  Kutra , we found some local sellers are selling custard apples of one of the rare and wild varieties. I asked my husband to stop the vehicle and went to purchase some of these from the seller. The rate per piece was one buck. I purchased about 100 pieces and paid the seller girl Rs.110, i.e. a small bonus over the sales price. The simpleton seller, a she, was reluctant to keep the extra bucks, but on insistence she kept it. The cost per piece of the custard apple in my city was Rs.10, i.e. 10 times more than the price accepted happily by the local seller.  The next month I happened to pass through the same route while on my way to Sambalpur. I was expecting to see the same sellers to purchase some more custar...

Get up dear sweetheart, the clock is going to hit 11 AM, you already have completed a sleep of 7 hours, and it is now time to get up, freshen up, and do pranayama and yoga. You need to keep your body fit and agile and mind fresh and detached from the hangovers of office work of yesterday. You have been working from home. You should use the precious 2 hours that you earlier had to waste in commuting to and fro office.     The sweet girl was still sleeping when the mother came back to check after making the morning aloe vera turmeric juice. She placed the glass of the freshly prepared juice on the table which was full of electronic gadgets and two laptops. Before walking out to complete her remaining daily chores she did not forget to remind her to get up. She repeated the motherly pieces of advice she had used to encourage her daughter sometime before.    Motherly love had gathered a bit of extra power when she came back to her daughter’s room to colle...
